VISITOR AND WORKING HOLIDAY VISAS

These visas allow you to travel to and in Australia or visit your family and friends or come for business visitor activities in Australia.

eVisitor Visa

  • a visa valid for a period of 12 months
  • permits you to stay 3 months from the date of each entry

Who is this visa for?

To qualify for this visa, you must:

  • hold an eVisitor eligible passport
  • be a genuine tourist / visitor
  • have access to adequate funds to support yourself during your visit;
  • meet health and character requirements
  • be overseas at the time of application

Family

Family members cannot be included in your visa application.

What this visa allows you to do?

  • travel
  • study for up to 12 weeks
  • attend conferences or explor business opportunities

Visitor Visa

  • a visa that can be valid for up to 3, 6 or 12 months

Who is this visa for?

To qualify for this visa, you must:

  • be a genuine tourist / visitor
  • have adequate finances
  • meet health and character requirements
  • have private health insurance
AO Tourist

Tourist stream:

  • is for you if you wish to travel to Australia for holidays or to visit family and friends. You can apply for this visa in or outside Australia.

 Business Visitor stream:

  • is for business people who wish to travel to Australia for a short business visit. This includes attending conference, exhibitions, making business or employment enquiries or negotiations.

Sponsored Family stream:

  • is for you if you wish to travel to Australia to visit your family. It is a requirement to have a sponsor who might be asked to provide a bond. Normally you are not allowed to apply for another visa after you have arrived in Australia.

Working Holiday Program

The Working Holiday Programme in Australia has two types of visas: Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417) and Work and Holiday visa (Subclass 462) depending on your country of residence.

Working Holiday Visa

This visa is for young people who want to travel and work in Australia for 12 months and more.

Who is this visa for?

To qualify for this visa, you must:

  • hold a Working Holiday eligible passport
  • be aged 18-30
  • have access to adequate funds to support yourself during your visit;
  • meet health and character requirements
  • have private health insurance
  • have a return ticket

Second Working Holiday Visa

If you wish to travel and work in Australia for more than 12 months, you may be able to apply for a second Working Holiday visa which will allow you to stay for an another 12 months.

To be eligible to apply, you must completed three months of specified work in regional Australia before you apply for your second working holiday visa.

What this visa allows you to do?

  • Travel
  • Work full-time, part-time or casual for up to 12 or 24 months. You can only work six months with one employer.
  • Study for up to 4 months

Am I eligible for this visa?

Work and Holiday Visa

This visa is for young people who want to travel and work in Australia for up to 12 months or more.

Who is this visa for?

To qualify for this visa, you must:

  • hold a Working and Holiday eligible passport
  • be aged 18-30
  • Meet education requirements
  • Have functional English knowledge
  • have access to adequate funds to support yourself during your visit;
  • meet health and character requirements
  • have private health insurance
  • have a return ticket

Education requirements

Depending on your country of passport, you must hold a diploma or tertiary qualification, or have successfully completed at least 2 years of undergraduate university study.

English Language Requirement

In case you are not a citizen of United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand, or the Republic of Ireland, you must provide evidence that you have at least functional English. An acceptable exam would be International English Language Testing System (IELTS) average band score of at least 4.5 for the four test components.

Letter of Support from your Government

You must provide a  letter of support from your home government with your application.

Second Work and Holiday Visa

If you wish to travel and work in Australia for more than 12 months, you may be able to apply for a second Work and Holiday visa which will allow you to stay for an another 12 months.

To be eligible to apply, you must complete three months of specified work in in an approved industry in northern Australia on your first work and holiday visa.

What this visa allows you to do?

  • Travel
  • Work full-time, part-time or casual for up to 12 or 24 months. You can only work six months with one employer.
  • Study for up to 4 months
  • apply for a second Work and Holiday visa if you have worked for three months in northern Australia in tourism and hospitality or agriculture, forestry and fishing.
